How does one decide which program(s) to enter?

The KJGA is tournament-oriented, the Junior Golf Leagues are recreational, and the Junior Golf Instruction and Competition Camps are instructional. Finding the best program(s) is dependent on the ability of the junior: Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced.

  • Advanced or tournament players will fit best in the KJGA tournaments or the Competition Camps.
  • Intermediate or recreational players will enjoy all programs.
  • Beginners should start with the Junior Golf Instructional program and then decide which program they would fit into best after the instruction.
  • Private lessons are available for all ages and ability levels.

Junior Golf Instruction

The Instructional Groups meet throughout the summer and focus on rules, etiquette, and instruction about the golf swing. These sessions are usually divided by age into 3 groups, but groups may change based on participation levels and ride-sharing requests.

Session times:

  • INSTRUCTIONAL RED: Ages 3-7 – Tuesdays 8:30-9:45am @ Red Arrow 6/16-7/28
  • INSTRUCTIONAL BLUE: Ages 8-15 – Tuesdays 10:00-11:15am @ Red Arrow 6/16-7/28
  • INSTRUCTIONAL GREEN: Ages 6-15 – Tuesdays 6:30-7:45pm @ The Dome 6/16-7/28
  • INSTRUCTIONAL YELLOW:  Ages 9-15 (advanced) – Thursdays 10:00-11:45am @ Eastern Hills 7/2-7/30
  • INSTRUCTIONAL ORANGE: Ages 6-15 – Saturdays 9:00-10:30am @ The Dome 6/20-8/1 (no class 7/4)

Cost: $75 before June 10, $85 after June 10, includes all scheduled times for a session

Instructional sessions will be powered by The First Tee LINK and incorporate the 9 Core Values of Respect, Courtesy, Responsibility, Honesty, Sportsmanship, Confidence, Judgment, Perseverance, and Integrity as well as the 9 Healthy Habits of Energy, Play, Safety, Vision, Mind, Family, Friends, School, and Community.  Activity based learning will help each child master golf skills while improving important life skills.

Each participant will also receive a membership to Red Arrow Golf Course to play golf, foot golf, or disc golf all summer.

Participants may also purchase an optional summer membership to The Dome for $29. (Family membership for $99)

And finally, each participant who enters before June 10 will also become Youth On Course members and Golf Association of Michigan members.

 

*Special note about pricing for this age group: While the registration fee includes all scheduled sessions, we fully expect participants to miss 1-2 weeks for camps and/or vacations.
